Urgency for concerted action to address climate loss and damage
Emerging Loss and Damage Challenges:
The crucial issue of climate finance:
The afternoon was devoted to the issue of climate finance. Participants discussed the challenges of accessing green funds, the apparent openness of which can be complex for some countries.
Representatives from Senegal shared their successes with two accredited entities, namely the Centre for Ecological Monitoring (CSE) and the Banque Agricole (LBA), which secured $50 million in funding. This highlighted the vital importance of having resources to access the necessary funding.
Planification précise et mobilisation d’Acteurs No-Étatiques:
The day also highlighted the importance of careful planning and adequate preparation to secure funding. Participants emphasized that donors want to understand the intended use of resources and specific financial needs before providing support.
The integration of non-state actors was identified as crucial to mobilize more funding. Projects that clearly demonstrate how funds will be allocated and establish impact monitoring mechanisms are more likely to attract investment.
The third day of ENDA ENERGIE's Climate Week proved to be a resounding success. The lively debates, fruitful exchanges and innovative ideas highlighted the urgency of concerted action on climate loss and damage. In addition, the crucial importance of financing to shape a sustainable and resilient future was highlighted.
There is no doubt that the engagement of all stakeholders, whether government, NGOs or local communities, is essential to address the challenges of climate change. The need to persevere in our collaboration, share our knowledge and take concrete action to preserve our planet and future generations remains a priority.
Day three was a vibrant reflection of the collective determination to forge a sustainable climate future. Innovative solutions and in-depth debates have marked the crucial importance of everyone's engagement to address the challenges of climate change.
