#EndaClimateWeek2023 : « Une Transition Juste et Durable » portée par les Acteurs No-Étatiques au Cœur des échanges
The second edition of the Energy-Climate Week organized by Enda Energy, will be held from July 31 to August 4, 2023. This exciting week provides a forum for exchange, sharing experiences and reflection on the challenges of inclusive, coordinated and integrated climate action. It offers a real opportunity to increase ambitions in terms of carbon sobriety and resilience in a context of climate crisis.
This Energy-Climate Week aims to raise local climate action and promote multi-stakeholder policy dialogue. More specifically, we want to:
- Inform on the achievements of non-state actors and the status of climate negotiations.
- Promote actions and good practices for the fight against climate change.
- Formulate positions and a common roadmap for COP28.
The week will be divided into five exciting thematic sessions, with panels, interactive dialogues and presentations of concrete projects. They are scheduled as follows:
Day 1 – Territorialisation des politiques climatiques et actions locales :
- Sharing the experience of COP27 local authorities.
- Discussion of the contribution of local authorities to the Senegal NDC.
- Implementation of the EIPC CFEP and development of a community position for the COP28 negotiations.
Day 2 – Nexus Energie-Eau-Climat :
- Interactive dialogue sur les actions locales climatiques au Sénégal.
- Testimonials from actors in the field on the impacts of local actions.
- Launch of the E-DOYLU project to better exploit local potential.
Day 3 – Pertes et Dommages & Financement Climatique :
- Lessons on the process initiated at the national level for loss and damage in Senegal.
- Interactive dialogue sur les mécanismes et l’accès aux financements climatiques pour l’adaptation, l’atténuation et les pertes et dommages.
Day 4 – Adaptation menée au niveau local (LLA) :
- Presentation of the results of the climate action research project related to the implementation of the NDC in Senegal.
- Testimonials from actors in the field on local adaptation actions.
- Discussions on recommendations to strengthen the climate governance process.
Special session (during session 4) – Energy and Agroecological Transitions:
- Interactive dialogue sur l’inclusivité du processus des transitions énergétique et agroécologique au Sénégal.
- Launch of the Observatory of Transitions to monitor the commitments of the State.
- Designing the Roadmap
Day 5 – Négociations Climatiques :
- Debrief on the results of session 58 (Climate Finance, Loss & Damage, Just Transition).
- Proposal of key messages and co-construction of positions for COP28.
